Safeguarding Adults is a training programme which is about protecting vulnerable adults and keeping them safe from harm. The course is about recognising the signs of abuse and knowing what to do about it.
Safeguarding is not something which should be done in seclusion the training explains the importance of all the relevant services working together in a partnership of care. The course focused on the importance of the individual and how you should ensure you provide a ‘person-centred’ approach.
The training explains the seven major forms of abuse and provides step-by-step guidance on how to deal with abuse and safeguarding adults. It explains how you should raise an alert, make a referral and what you need to include in a written report. You need to act quickly if you think abuse may be happening as the quicker it’s recognised, the quicker something can be done about it.
